Microsoft have done it again – and produced something which I can’t deny – it’s attractive. In fact, it’s not only attractive, I feel that it could be a major competitor to the iPhone – and may soon steal away from apple’s amazing reputation. So, what makes it an improvement? It looks amazing now, for sure. It surpasses the quality of its predecessors, en mon avis.
But not only that, it now has an application store. It has around 60 applications available in the UK and over 250 in the world. Now, that being said, I’ve ironically just seen an advert for iPod Touch – which is trying to edge in as a gaming device rather than an iPod – in fact, they’re not even advertising music anymore.
The phone software has its flaws, of course – such as an interface that has only subtly changed graphics over a few years – then again, that’s rather harsh criticism when Nokia phone OS has looked nearly the same for over 5 years.![]()
The App store is a good implementation, however applications work with 6.0 up, which is a shame. Not to mention the hefty pricetags – around $20 for an application, ridiculous, in my opinion.
There are some great things that can come from the new release of Windows Mobile. They just need to stop hogging money and realise cheaper things can sell more (windows computers, anyone).
