In March you may remember, Youtube removed music videos from their service due to a lawsuit from Universal demanding Youtube to remove them.

Today it was announced Google is to pay PRS an undisclosed sum to allow them to continue – it’s backdated and will last until 2012 – great news for us as it means free music videos are once more obtainable. (This author frankly found a lot of new musicians via the Youtube service and then went on to buy their CD’s; it’s not all bad!)

All the same, Steve Porter (head of PRS) thinks it’s an outrage, harshly punishing British songwriters and musicians.

Personally? All this has happened since Google purchased the Youtube site (for £875 million); and don’t folk just love attacking the rich.
