Mozilla Labs’ Jetpack is something impressive – it’s making add-on development easier for the general folk, so that more add-ons can be created. However, seeming rather aimless recently, Mozilla have boosted the pace by creating a gallery – much like the Firefox add-on library, this will make things easier to get add-ons for Jetpack – thus making the entire experience far better, right? It’s been around 6 months since Jetpack 0.1, the first release – and Mozilla strives to make it more capable and important.
What is Jetpack?
Jetpack is an experimental program created to allow developers to create addons for Firefox, regardless of strong programming experience. The extensions or addons are built with Web technologies, such as xHTML and CSS, and are therefore installable without a relaunch of the browser – Opera, much?
We hope to see more from another Mozilla start-up.
