BREAKING NEWS

Ron Bowes, hacker from Skull Security, has created a 2.8GB torrent containing the account details of roughly 1 in 5 Facebook users. Scary stuff. The torrent, containing 100 million users Facebook details, has been described as “awesome and a little terrifying”, although nothing illegal was done to collect the information.

Facebook has a wide variety of information on people’s accounts… available to pretty much anyone; on their open-access directory. Ron Bowes created a crawler to prowl the open directory, gathering information where information was available – this includes e-mail addresses, phone numbers, relationships, addresses, and much more.

Currently the torrent has 398 seeders and 1878 leechers – and it’s obvious more and more people will download this. Freaky.
