Actually, there’s not much more to objectively say than that. It’s new screen size is a whopping 4.2 inches, a 93% increase of the DS lite screen size and bigger than the PSP Go. It has a longer battery life as well, running 5 hours on the maximum brightness setting.
Nintendo must be seeing a potentially larger casual market in the future. It would appear this particular DSi is aimed at casual gamers, possibly older folks, and it seems better suited for media applications such as the web browser or certain DSiWare. It appears to have a larger, pen-like stylus, and the chasis is bigger, but stays around the same thickness. Fundamentally, it is the same as the DSi. It comes with 3 DSiWare titles and will be sold for about 22000 yen (~220USD). Expect it in the US early in 2010.
On an unrelated note, expect to see some reviews from me of some impressive DSiWare titles, starting with Thorium Wars tomorrow. Keeping Me fingers crossed, hoping that new Shantae title will be released soon!
